Awareness about medical negligence is on the rise in Nigeria. All manner of factors ranging from Financial to infrastructural, educational, cultural, religious, political, and historical factors all play a crucial role in medical negligence and also reflect in patients’ expectations regarding acceptable professional performance and the liability of medical professionals for medical negligence. The purpose of this course is to expose participants to the applicable Laws relating to Medical Malfeasance/Negligence in Nigeria. The course also seeks to look at ways and means in which medical professionals can safeguard themselves against the risk of medical negligence by practicing both legal and medical defence strategies.
